Botanical-based beauty product experts Aveda have launched a line of eyeshadows and lip colours for fall in dramatic hues meant to evoke those of a garden but which actually remind me of all shades of wine and champagne (with the exception of the blue and green, of course). Which I’m into, like a lot, because probably the next best thing to drinking wine and champagne is wearing it on your face. In a not drunk-and-passed-out-in-a-pool-of-it-on-the-floor kind of way. A classy way, like in the form of makeup! Aveda has got our backs, girls. Check it out:

Aveda Petal Essence Single Eye Colors ($17) The lighter Callalily and Bittersweet colours are my favourites as I’m a sucker for anything nude and neutral; plus they’re shimmery, so a bit more exciting and oomph-y. But the darker Cerulean Blue, Green Tuberose and dark rosy Night Iris are high-drama and just look like fall in a pot. Imagine wine-coloured or smoky-blue lids with a chunky knit hat and scarf, a cozy leather bomber and black knee-high flat leather boots. Mmmm, October. AmIright?

Aveda Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lip Color ($23.50) These lip shades are made with plant and fruit waxes that are supposed to plump up your lips and smooth fine lines, which is awesome, because who doesn’t want full lips and not want wrinkles, but also THEY SMELL LIKE CINNAMON, FOR REAL. I kept randomly picking up the tubes and sniffing them, every time I walked into my bedroom ’cause again, they smell like fall. And the colours are so rich and striking. I’m not usually one for dark, dramatic lip colours like these but now I wanna go all vampy like Winona Ryder in Reality Bites come September. Three colours, a browny-red Snap Dragon, a dark purply-pink Rare Orchid and a bright Wild Fuschia.
